Price: $16.00
Florence Nightingale - 1820 - 1910 5X7 greeting card
During the Crimean War she became known as "The Lady with the Lamp". She made rounds late into the night bringing a glimmer of light and hope to hundreds of wounded, sick, and dying soldiers. Her grateful country donated money so she could found a school of nursing at St. Thomas Hospital in London. For the rest of her life she was a champion for the fledgling profession of nursing. Today millions of nurses around the world continue the Nightingale legacy by bringing light and hope to patients and their fmailies.

I assembled this card in 2010 to commemorate the centennial of Florence Nightingale's death. The 1872 engraving and the art deco postacrd were purcased years apart. it wasn't until I put them togher for this project that I noticed the postmark - 1910.
